We would like to invite you to the
‘Celebrating the Ties that Bind us Together’
Student Exhibition.
This work, produced by Level two students, on the
University of Lincoln BA (Hons) Illustration degree programme, represents their responses to
a project brief which required that each student
produce two street posters aimed at celebrating the lives and contributions made by immigrants, working or living on the southern
side of Lincoln’s high street.
The exhibition consists of a broad range of illustration work reflecting the individual visual interpretations of the space where other cultures cross boundaries with Lincoln.
Lincoln is becoming a much more multicultural city and this project was constructed to reflect that and the issues that arise within it. People come for many reasons: to study, to work, to stay a while, to stay forever. The broader “The Ties That Bind Us” project, conceived and run by Southside, focuses on specific communities and cultures and their cultural needs, promoting social cohesion, civic pride and better understanding.
