This year we’ve had some wonderful results from our Level 2 students who completed two projects for the Audience and Message Module.
The first Project was entitled “Ghost Culture” in which students were required to produce an image for the Folio Society that refers to three ghostly characters from different cultures. Students were asked to use the cover as an opportunity to produce depictions of characters but also to create an image that was not a traditional narrative scene. The cover needed to use only three colours and be symbolic in its communication/depiction. The students were then asked to produce n Internal Illustration as a narrative scene for the Folio Society based on their own particular favourite ghost story. Here they had the opportunity to use a fuller range of colours, with light and shade to produce textures. Here are some of the wonderful results!
The Second project was entitled “The Art Director’s Brief”. Here, students were required to select two stories from 4 short editorial pieces to produce two illustrations for the Guardian Newspaper. Here are some of the wonderful results!
